Unhinged by A. G. Howard

**SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVE NOT READ SPLINTERED**

Unhinged (Splintered #2)

Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly seductive Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the prestigious art school in London she's always dreamed of.

That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs.

As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s unsettling presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind.

If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she steps through the rabbit hole again, she'll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head.

My Thoughts:

I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED....did I mention LOVED this book. It was perfection, sprinkled with awesomeness, rolled in incredible! *throws confetti*

Ok now that that's out of my system...

If you are a fan of Splintered get ready for another amazing story full of Alyssa, Jeb, and Morpheus and all the Wonderland ways...except this time we are staying in the human realm. O.O While I missed Wonderland and still hope we get more of that setting in Ensnared (which I think we will), this book worked nicely and made a clear message that Alyssa isn't going to have it so easily picking her human realm over the Wonderland realm. And she isn't going to get to choose so easily where her heart lies.

So I'm going to do this review a little more "formal" than I normally do because I'm afraid if I don't have a little bit of structure I will just totally fan girl all over the place....

THE LOVE TRIANGLE: Howard hands down writes one of the best triangles I have ever seen. Triangles are hard to do in a book and hard to get right and make feel realistic BUT when I have read two books in a series and STILL can't choose which guy I prefer then the author is doing something right. I am usually the first to jump on the "bad boy, loner" train (ahem Morpheus) and leave the "good guy" (ahem Jeb) in the dust, but it just hasn't been this way at all. I was hoping this book would make me finally clear on whose "Team" I was, but all it has done is made me decide I'm on TeamJebpheus....I just CAN'T choose. Jeb is a good guy, but he also has the hot edge and he is SO fierce and loyal to Alyssa that I just want him to be happy and get everything he wants. I love the way he handles the things he discovers in this book, it all made me love him even more. I want to give more details but...SPOILERS! O.o  MORPHEUS he is deceiving, mischievous, annoying, but gosh darn-it he loves Alyssa and under it all he is a good guy. I loved being able to see little chinks in his armor in this book finally. It was all SO swoony!

THE PLOT: There were SO many unexpected to twists in this book that I would of NEVER seen coming....like AT ALL. When we start discovering all these little secrets about Wonderland along the way I was in shock most of the time and SO ready to see where it is all going. I also like seeing all the memories that were brought into play between different characters and finding out more about Wonderland and the creatures there in general.

THE CREATURES: Honestly I just want to give a shout out to Chessie & Rabid....because I totes love them and I want to walk around with Chessie on my shoulder for reals ♥

THE ENDING: The ending....WILL KILL YOU....you have been warned! It will leave you to BEG A.G. Howard for Ensnared NOW because gosh darn-it January 2015 is WAY to far away and we all just need to know all the things and MY BABIES....... :-(

My Rating:
♥♥♥♥♥

I completely recommend this book to anyone and everyone that can read....seriously!

  1. I agree with your review 100%!! I had the hardest time writing my own review because I was rambling, it was super hard trying to describe all that I loved without spoilers... The ending is evil and cruel but I love that final tea time!!

2015 is too damned far!! *wails*
