My Thoughts:

This is the first book I have read in at least a month that I couldn't bear putting down. One of those books that when I HAD to put it down, that's all I was thinking about. From the very first chapter I was completely hooked on this book and what was happening in Davy's life. 

Davina (Davy) Hamilton comes from an easy, privileged life. She's a musical prodigy; smart, spent her entire life in private school, popular, and her boyfriend is the hottest guy in school. She has a charmed life. Even her best friend, Tori, is jealous of her. Then one day Davy gets a call from her mom to rush home from school to find out that she has HTS (Homicidal Tendency Syndrome), otherwise known as the kill gene. Davy's life quickly begins to fall apart. She loses everything and is thrown into a world with a mysterious imprinted HTS carrier, Sean. Davy doesn't feel any different than she ever has, sure she wouldn't ever hurt anyone. She quickly realizes not everything she's learned about her world is so true, and she won't be as quick to judge anyone anymore. 

Davy's story had me intrigued and anxious. I swear I couldn't read fast enough. I had to stop myself from skimming ahead in several parts just because I couldn't stand not knowing what was going to happen. The writing was flawless, and Jordan kept me glued to every page. Even with a blooming romance happening I liked that the story really stayed on track and more focused on Davy and her life, rather than switching gears and becoming romance focused like a lot of YA tends to do. Not to say I didn't absolutely love the romance....because I DID! The story was just so much deeper and darker than that and I liked seeing Davy as an individual person and not just part of a duo.

I loved Davy. She had such good character growth in the book. She went from being this overly confident, spoiled girl who had an amazing life to losing herself then finding her way and figuring out this new, seemingly impossible situation she is thrown into. I enjoyed watching her grow and adapt with her life and the things that happened. I loved that even when she was given options to be protected she would speak up and push through. She wanted to take care of things for herself even though she was terrified. 

Sean is just perfect. PERFECT. He had me swooning so many times, I wasn't even halfway through the book and I declared him a spot on the Book Boyfriend List. He was mysterious, broody, seemingly dangerous, but like this dark knight in shining armor. I. JUST. LOVE. THIS. GUY. There is such a build up for everything that happened between Davy and Sean. This was one of those books that I just wanted to yell at them SO many times to just flipping kiss already because I couldn't take the anticipation anymore. I was seriously dying over here. 

Some other mentionable characters are Mitchell, Davy's brother. He is such an awesome brother. One chapter it even made me tear up because of the emotions Mitchell goes through because of the things happening to Davy. Gil, another carrier she meets early on, turns out to be an amazing friend and ally for Davy. He's not your typical person you think of being a carrier either and Davy quickly bonds with him over that. Zac and Tori, I just want to mention because they suck and I need to let that out. I was in a raging fit at them for maybe the first 1/3 of the book. 

UNINVITED was just all around dark and thrilling, with a little bit of swooning in there to make you melt at times. I highly recommend to everyone. I think it can appeal to a pretty wide audience. I'm definitely dying to get my hands on the next book!
