Fan Fun Friday (1)

Every Friday I will have a guest fan make a recommendation of a book that they want to share with you. Any book, any genre. I will also start doing some fun polls/trivia as soon as I'm able to get it all together!

My first Fan guest is Caroline!! We met via Twitter and she has become a good twitter friend. She is my first guinea pig for this meme ;) Take it away Caroline!

Thanks for letting me be the first fan on Fan Friday! This is super awesome and a huge honor!! I could literally talk for a year about this book I love it so much. 

My book recommendation: Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

Nightshade is the first book in a trilogy by Andrea Cremer, the sequels being Wolfsbane and Bloodrose. I have read this book three times and each time I fall in love all over again. It's about a girl named Calla who is going to be the alpha female of a new wolf pack. In order to lead the pack she has to marry Ren, the sexy alpha male. Their wedding has been set for years, but when Calla falls for the human boy, Shay, the world she's known her whole life is thrown out the window. Has everything she's ever known been a lie? Shay helps Calla uncover the secrets of her past while their forbidden love makes her question her future. 

The characters in this book have a wide range of personalities. Bryn, the outgoing, perky, and not to mention girl best friend of the main character. Nev, the quiet, secluded boy who writes poetry and sings. Throughout the series the characters grow and we get to see a more in-depth version of each and every person. There are conflicts between characters and some internal struggles that make the series much more interesting .

The best part though (besides Ren of course because I love him so much it hurts) is the story. Though the theme forbidden love has been written many times, this book is different than all the others. The strong female protagonist in this books fights for what she believes in while trying to keep everyone happy. While her fight for love is happening, she also is finding out more about her past. She is learning that everything she's ever known isn't exactly what she thinks it is. As her world unravels before her eyes, Calla stays strong, standing up for everything she believes in. It's for this reason that I see Calla as a hero of our generation, right up there along with Percy, Katniss, Clary, and Harry.

If you haven't read this series yet, I can't yell at you loud enough to GO READ IT! It's absolutely amazing and has some of my favorite characteristics of books: gripping, romantic, dramatic, and there are sexy characters *cough cough* Ren *cough cough*. I strongly recommend this book to anyone, especially if you love YA fantasy novels.. But there's a little bit of something for everyone.

      Veggies and hummus!! I live on that stuff.

     YA Fantasy

4. Stand alone or series?

     Series :) I love the more in depth and emotional sides of books, and with a series, you get deeper into that side

5. Who is your fictional boyfriend? And what book is her from?

     Ren Laroche. Nightshade series is hands down my husband forever and always. But Will from the upcoming novel The Prophecy is my......I guess, mistress? I am in a very serious relationships with them both.
